“Romanian lyric soprano Iulia Maria Dan, was the show’s star, thanks to an immense stage presence and a lovely distinct voice with trills, fruity and feminine, evocative of past legendary Romanian lyric sopranos Virginia Zeani and Mariana Nicolescu. Blessed with extraordinary stage presence and a natural comic verve, one could not take one’s eyes off her whenever onstage (the whole operetta in fact, save for the beginning of Act III). She dazzled in her Act II aria, “Klänge der Heimat” (Czardas), with both her high notes and temperament”

Concerto Net “Die Fledermaus” Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona

“With as much intensity as in the Countess the day before, Iulia Maria Dan deploys even more striking accents in Donna Anna, delaying the decrescendo a little longer (translating the character's overflowing pain and the comfort that is slow to come). These accents are those of a tragedienne and even of several: the tragedy of which she is the victim then the avenger, in all the depth of her timbre and all the intensity of her accents. The Romanian soprano maintains the intensity of this lightning in the vocal lyricism by moving from the aria to the recitative, preserving the quality of the prosody, striking at will and with measure in the nuances, always with the great elegance of a recital performance”

Olyrix “Don Giovanni” Saint-Jean-d’Acre

“Iulia Maria Dan gives a stunning Freia! Her intense voice gives you goosebumps on several occasions. She sings with great drama and emotion. There has probably rarely, if ever, been a more beautiful Freia. […] she looks not only pure and innocent on stage, but wonderfully delicate, magnificently beautiful, and infinitely charming“

Klassik Begeistert “Das Rheingold” Hamburgische Staatsoper

“Iulia Maria Dan is a delicate, vulnerable Desdemona who masters this role breathtakingly. She has powerful assertiveness as well as attractive lyricism and a tender, touching innocence in her tone”
